Who we are…
We are a small purebred and crossbred sheep farm located in the beautiful corner western Montana. Our flock is proudly owned and operated by Aviana Hofmann a dedicated young shepherdess who began her journey at just 10 years old.
In 2023, Aviana saved her money by selling bouquets of home-grown flowers and purchased her first five crossbred sheep. The following year, she expanded her flock with three registered purebred Gotland sheep and began thoughtfully growing her herd.
Today, Aviana raises healthy, well-cared-for sheep and offers registered lambs, crossbred lambs and ewes, and their luxurious, high-quality wool. Responsibility, love and hard work are at the heart of everything she does.
About The Owner…
I’m Aviana Hofmann, the young shepherdess behind Stillwater Sheep & Wool. I was born in Missouri, and my love for sheep began when I was just 9 years old. I saved money from selling bouquets of home-grown flowers and bought my first five sheep in 2023.
What started with five crossbred sheep has grown into a flock of 16, including registered purebred Gotland sheep. Along the way, I discovered a special love for Gotland sheep and their beautiful, curly wool, and today I’m working toward building a flock centered around registered Gotlands and quality wool.
Stillwater Sheep & Wool is more than just a flock. It is a small, sheep business built on hard work, responsibility, gentleness, and a love for these animals. I raise and care for my sheep with the goal of producing healthy sheep and beautiful wool while honoring God in all that I do.
From five sheep to sixteen, this journey is just beginning—and I’m excited to see where God leads it next.

Why are we named Stillwater Sheep & Wool
The name Stillwater Sheep & Wool comes from Psalm 23:1–3, where David describes the Lord as our Shepherd:
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul.”
The words “still waters” especially stood out to us. Sheep need a shepherd to lead them, care for them, protect them, and bring them to places where they can rest. In the same way, Psalm 23 reminds us that God is our Shepherd, faithfully leading, providing for, and caring for us.
